Tips for buying an engagement ring;
1/ Studying your partner’s style - Are they classic, bold, tomboy, romantic.. etc.?
2/ Take your partner shopping and see what styles he/she is drawn to or what pieces they ask your opinion on.
3/ When in doubt, friendly stalk your partner’s social media. *Hint - Pinterest is a good place to start.

What was the spark for your brand? Where did the story begin?
With a passion for jewelry making from a young age, I had learned design techniques as I studied Fashion Design at Ryerson University. With no intention to pursue jewelry - a few years after graduating and a move from Toronto to New York - I found myself working for an inspiring jewelry designer/shop owner in Brooklyn. It was then that the path became clear, designing jewelry was what I wanted to do forever. The brand has grown so much in the past couple years; I'm incredibly lucky and proud to work with such inspirational and hardworking women. Our focus is to create beautiful and meaningful, master crafted pieces from recycled or fair-trade metals and conflict-free/ethically sourced gemstones.

What inspires you creatively?
Art, architecture, design and mostly nature. Nature provides us with great resources. However, raw materials only become practical and appealing after a craftsman makes something beautiful out of it. Foe & Dear utilizes raw materials and creates dream-like masterpieces for the body. Our pieces are both aesthetic and functional, and always tie back to the raw beauty of nature.

Most memorable place you've travelled?
Most memorable places are; Florence, Italy, for it's culture and history. Nicaragua for it's jungle-like forests and beautiful beaches. And my most recent trip, Japan, for it's appreciation for nature, design, and aesthetic.

On a typical weekend we'll find you?
Exploring our town; finding a new trail to hike, restaurant to eat at, or on the beach with my husband and pup, Meli... Sometimes just catching up on Netflix at home.
