The world of diamonds has a long history dating back to the 7th century India. Originally collected from rivers and streams, they were used as a status symbol in society.
The creations of diamonds begins deep in the earth with extreme heat and pressure. As the diamond forms and hardens, it is pushed to the surface.
Once fully formed, it is excavated, cut, and polished.
On the Mohs scale of hardness, diamonds are 10, meaning they are the hardest mineral known to man. Only a mineral of equal hardness can scratch a diamond.
